Hi all, trying to figure out where to install an older cb I have. I've seen a few locations mentioned. Am thinking about installing it on the 03 cupholder, auto trans. Looks like there would be clearance whether opened or closed. Any thoughts?

You can buy them at Sourceautomotive under the Dodge misc section, mention TDR to get a discount when you call.

Me ... glove box where prying eys cannot see it. Ran a remote speaker up under the cup holders all descrete like and the sound is 10 times better than a cb alone.

Used self tapping screws to hold mounting bracket on roof crossmember. Tight as can be, no wiggle. Can't see it while driving but don't really need to. Couldn't be oriented quite right because of bracket size. Gotta drop headliner. no prob for a beginner like me. Punch bracket through headliner to hide bracket for nice clean install. Don't worry about that part, it's easy to figure out. I've done this on my last two trucks w/o any troubles. Remote speaker is more than worth the $10 or whatever they are. My '01 had a double roof, whereas '04. 5 is single thickness, don't put screw in roof itself!!! :--) Maybe reg. cabs are different.

BigBob's unit wasn't available when I did mine and I'm not sure if he's got the ones for the man. yet. Otherwise I may have tried that.

Since the original question was for a truck with an auto transmission... can you live without your gear indicator? :)

I stuffed my CB into the dash behind the HVAC controls and rewired it so that the display was integrated into the gauge cluster. The control knobs and the mic jack are in the dashboard bezel - just under the gauge cluster.

The 6 speed mounts and the Automatic 4x4 with the floor transfer case shift are also ready for shipment! We now can supply a CB mount for any full size 3rd Gens. :D

Again, I want to let you know that you will loose the cupholder closest to the driver.

I have to say that while Bob was trying a 6 speed test fit on my truck I actually got to handle one of these mounts. First class and high quality all the way. If anyone is looking for a solid, clean, professional mount contact Big Bob. Not affiliated, I was just very impressed and impressing me is tough for anyone to do.
