I am trying to figure out if the cb mount that genos sells will fit in my manual truck with a cobra 29 radio. thanks

In my 96 I made my own with some angle Iron bolted down using the 4 bolts that hold down the center console and then mounting the cb between the two pieces of steel that I left hanging out in front of the console. It worked fine but I found I didnt like it as my cup holder would always drop coffee drops on it when I hit a bump, and my cigarette ash would drop on it. I moved the cb up over head to under the console I just hung some pipe strap from the 2 screws that held up the console (between console and headliner) and used the holes at the right height for the cb screws. I then moved the rearview mirror over to the left, a little a piece of velcro between the overhead and cb keeps it from vibrating/shaking

have you guys roof mounted you antenna's, if not how have you gotten you lead wire inside without making a place to leak either air or water?

I initially had a 5' FireStik on the bumper and I ran the coax through a knock out in the driver's floorboard and up the A-pillar. I have since gone to a k40 I had and I have it roof mounted. Cut the hole in the roof with a hole saw. The roof is double wall where I put it and the k40 would not mount on the double wall thickness so I had to cut a larger hole in the inside panel for the mounting washer to go in. It hasn't leaked yet.

mount in front of 5 speed stick?

Wow Shelby, your set up... . Nice office.

What's with the gear shifter/stick handle?

I have a 96' 5-speed (NV4500). Will the stick clear the CB if it's in the Geno's mount in 2nd & 4th gear?

Is this just a factor of where I have the 60/40 bench seat set?

If there's room, I'm also looking for a place to mount my Ham/Ameture radio.

I was thinking of removing the lower dash panel that's right in front of the stick in order to gain more room to mount them & not be hit by the stick in 3rd.

Thanks! Yes that is more my office than my actual office some days, of course the diary has been upgraded along with the laptop a couple of times, but I am still using that same basic layout.

That is the standard 6 speed stick, with one of Bob V. 's modified Eaton Fuller knobs, controls the front axle CAD and the exhaust brake.

I am using the mount that Geno's sells for the 2nd GEN body style and you will note that I sandwiched two radios in there AND yes I can shift all the gears like that. The stick will slightly touch the radios if you pull back hard on the stick, but the foam pipe insulation works good as padding. Once in gear it clears the radio stack at cruise.

On my 2001, there is no adjustment on the center part of the seat, it is fixed in place.

Hope that helps.
