Cobra 75 is what I have too. Easy mounting but it sometimes switches to different channels when powered up. (often 9  )

It defaults to channel 9 when powering up. I am not sure if you can disable that or not. I didn't read the manual...

I've posted a similar question before in the past about the Cobra 75 WX ST an feed back was not to good. More or less saying it was (junk). I myself like the compact size an controls in the handle. Can you elaborate more on the output an it's features. Would you buy it again. :D

It sounds like a good idea, but!!! I have one and would not get another. Volume and sound quality is terible. I would give it away if anyone wanted such a piece.

Oh and forget even getting any of the weather stations. And from my location I can pick up 3 differant frequencies for weather.

So does the Cobra 18. PITA, unless it get a constant 12v. Really like my 25 and 2-29s. 2 have Night Watch also. :) Don't care for the 18 at all.

CB

I have the Cobra 75 WX ST also and interestingly enough have never had it jump channels on start-up. :) I usually run on Ch 17 and it's always there when I fire it up. I've had it on both my 2nd gen and now my 3rd gen and have been pleased with its performance. Of course, more watts of power would be nice. :D

I have a Cobra 29 WX NW ST.

I've had this radio for over 4 years, and had it in three different trucks. Stays on the channel you leave it on without constant power, build in SWR for tuning your antenna(s), gets NOAA Weatherband and has a severe weather alert feature that really works, can power a Public Address speaker (mount an all-weather speaker under your hood to yell at people - Radio Shack has them cheap), and has button access to channels 9 and 19 without having to turn the dial. Real nice radio. Worth every penny in my mind, and I'd buy it again in a second.

I have the 29 in my 94. Much better sound, range and features. It's size is a bit tough to deal with in the third gen trucks. (I put it where the factory stereo used to be) The size and ease of mounting of the 75 is handy, but there are some sacrifices. I think the 75 can have an aux speaker, and a good antenna helps.

I have the cobra 75. It works OK for my needs. It only get about 1-2 mile range but i don't have the antenna set up in the best spot.

I too have the cobre 75 and have no problems on start up. It's stays right where i last had it. I do find the size of the mic alittle on the big side, but got use to it. You can use a remote speaker and mount it anywhere convient. I use the dual FireStik stake mounts for the antenna.

CB Radio's

Hi "X"

I run a Galaxy 33 and love it. It is a little bigger radio but it has alot more power. I make a bracket that connects to the center seat base and angles up for the radio to attach to. You can look and my gallery to see pic's. The other big thing to rember is the antena and the placement of that antena. If you want a good radio, look on Uniden.com, they have a 68 LTW that is a referb. It is a little smaller radio. I used to run one and never had a problem. I think I paid $70. 00 for the radio and $20 or $25 to have is peaked and tuned.

Good luck, Brad

Get the cb with the features you want. If you want small and concealed get the Cobra 75. If you want a full feature radio get a export or RCI 2950/2970 without the green backlight. The best thing you can do is spend you money on a decent antenna. I. E Wilson 1000 . If you can live with a tall antenna the best one for 27 MHZ is a 102" whip trimmed for the best possible SWR 1:1 on the channel you will use the most. Be careful getting your radio "TUNED UP" because you could over do the modulation and splatter. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing. So to sum it all up get a decent radio and and the best antenna you can afford. 73 . Chris (KE4MBN on the ham bands)
