Here’s what mine looked like yesterday after around 75k miles

I purchased the OEM Fleetguard CCV filter on Amazon exactly a year ago for $54.99. Installed it last week. I like to keep ahead on maintenance items, so searched around today for another. Price has more than doubled and Amazon is out of stock. Lots of knock-off filters out there much cheaper. However, noticed this from a Cummins Filtration email I receive regularly.
"Cheap crankcase ventilation systems can’t take the heat"

If your crankcase ventilation system includes cheap polypropylene media, it can melt under high temperatures. That not only eliminates its efficiency, but the melted material may clog the drain line or block other ports in the engine. This could lead to catastrophic damage for your engine. Check out our product comparison flyer to learn more.

Just ordered a CCV filter from Geno's. After I bought the $88-$89 "Cummins" (not listed as fleetguard, but is probably a fleetguard), the Geno's website showed a mopar-branded CCV filter for $140. I was a bit shocked to see the mopar-branded filter listed as $50 more????

This will be my second CCV filter change (3rd CCV filter if you count the one it came with from the factory). I do it every 4 1/2 years. I only have 86k miles on the truck and interesting enough, I never got a perform service notification on the evic at 67.5 k.
