Has anyone changed this?

Auto parts doesn't have a listing for the filter, best place to get? Genos?

When I change this how do I remove the warning from the overhead?

Geoff,

07. 5 w/6speed, 67k, double cab

Not sure on warning mine hasn't gone off yet n I am at 85,000 changing it is pretty easy I believe the screwhead's are 10 mm

All the screw heads are 8mm, and to turn the display off you need to

Turn the key on, engine not running

Press brake pedal two times

Press accelerator two times

Could take multiple trys to get right

I have changed mine, it takes about 20 minutes. I buy all the filters for my truck at Cummins. They are about 30% less than Mopar and less than getting them from Geno's and paying the freight.

I changed mine but coudn't get rid of the overhead warning, was about to go to the dealer. Thanks for the info CPalvic. Will give it a try in a little while will let you know if it works for me. I wander if these resets are published anywhere.

Perform Service Indicator

Your vehicle will require emissions maintenance at a set interval. To help remind you when this maintenance is due, the Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) will display “Perform Service”. When the “Perform Service” message is displayed on the EVIC it is necessary to have the emissions maintenance performed. Emissions maintenance includes replacing the Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) filter element, cleaning of the EGR Cooler, and cleaning of the EGR Valve. The procedure for clearing and resetting the "Perform Service" indicator message is located in the appropriate Service Information.

PERFORM SERVICE INDICATOR - RESET

The “Perform Service” message will display on the EVIC each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position to indicate a emission maintenance is required. To reset the “Perform Service” indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the following procedure:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine).

2. Press and release the brake pedal two times.

3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds.

4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.

NOTE: If the indicator message illumination when you start the vehicle, the “Perform Service” indicator did not reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.

according to the service interval, that light comes on AUTOMATICALLY @ 67500 miles.

Thanks for the info. I had a check engine light on a return trip to arizona back in July at around 66000 miles. . the repair involved cleaning the EGR Cooler, EGR valve, and turbo. The dealership didnt replace the CCV filter at that time, I replaced it at 67,850 after ordering it from GENO's. It was half the cost of the dealership. I think I'm safe at this point in time with resetting the system light, but be assured that if the light comes back on I'll get an appointment to have it looked at. Thanks again.

I put the bore scope in the egr cooler and it looked clean as could be (90k miles highway driving averaging 45mph over the life of the truck) I just changed the CCv filter and let it ride!

I had elected to have the CCV filter, EGR Cooler and EGR Valve serviced ahead of time because of an extended travel trip. Didn't want to be looking for a shop during the trip.
The Service Engine came up on the overhead display while on the trip.
I performed the brake pedal and throttle reset and it worked the first time.
Thanks for the info. Saved a trip to the shop for something that was already done!

The one thing I would like to add to this thread, I'm going to add a road draft tube on my 2500, and not let go back into the turbo it will cause a cokeing issue in the compressor of the turbo and also the CAC. I have seen this frist hand and if the CAC gets to pluged you have to replace it. Just a FYI.
