Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting CCW Fullsize Glock?

Do very many of you CC fullsize handguns? I'm considering purchasing either a Glock 20 or 29 in the next few months. I'm leaning toward buying the 20, since I'm picking up a little . 38 S&W snubbie next week that will serve me fine when I'm wearing clothing that requires a very small firearm. I'd like to get a semiauto for this one, since so many people in my previous threads have recommended them and I've tested Glocks in . 45 (fullsize) and 9mm (fullsize and subcompact) and liked the feel of them all quite well.



I figure that if I'm already locked into WB carry anyway regardless of whether I choose the 20 or 29, I might as well buy the fullsize since there shouldn't be a huge difference in concealability, right? Or no?



I've read through the archives and have seen lots of people carrying 5" 1911's and big Glocks concealed without a problem. If you carry something this size, how heavy does your wardrobe need to be to conceal it? Thanks for the help.

Depends on your size/build

I've carried a 5" 1911 in summer cloths with a Milt Sparks VMII IWB.

You'll want to have the T shirt fitting loose. I try to go to the big & tall shop and get them for tall guys.

Unless you do already. In that case good luck.

Dont try to carry a pistol this big/heavy with a cheapo belt either. I have a Sparks belt.

i have seen them on some of those shoot shows, a shirt with a flap on the side for cw, i don't remeber who made it.

i cc a 1911 for years ...



found myself leaving it in the car for quick trips into walmart ... when fueling ... etc



finally bought a glock 26 and carry it all the time ...



wife is small framed and she loves her airweight smith ... we just got back from an evening walk ... she carried it in her sweats



if you don't carry it ... it don't do you any good

I have a glock 27 and a 22. I almost never carry the 22 concealed, uncomfertable. (im 6-1, 210)



The 27 is nice on the hip, inside the pants open top holster. I do have a 23 mag with a little adapter to give the feel of a short barrelled 23.



Id go with atleast the compact, not a full size. I carry mine every day even to church cause id rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I have a friend who carries a G21 (same size as a G20) in a Blade Tec IWB holster and you can't tell he's got it on. He just wears a untucked tee shirt and he's good to go.



He can draw from that rig as fast as I've seen anybody draw from concealed. It must be that practice thing.

I have the G22 and G27 (full size and sub-compact . 40). The G27 is obviously way easier to conceal and carry, but I also shoot the G27 better than the G22.



Here in NV, we have to "qualify" with each weapon to be put on our CCW. I shot 298 with the G27 and 290 with the G22 - it's all personal preference. Go to a range that will rent them to you and see which you shoot the best with and which is the most comfortable.



It's nice too, that the full size and compact size mags will fit the sub-compact models as well. While I carry a stock G27 9rnd mag +1 (pearce grip), my backup mag is a G22 15 rounder.

Glock is fine but when I bring it up to eye level the barrel is high. I carry a S&W mod 39 & look rite down the barrel. It's all in the angle of the grip. No holster, just a spring clip on rt side

Huh?... ... ... ..... if your sight allignament is right the barrel is straight.

i sport a glock 31 and my usually untucked t-shirt covers it in a high galco rig, i have packed a 1911 a couple times (pre glock) but it's a little thorny with the mag well and deep checkering, having a spare tire helps with concealment so not sure a skinny guy could easily hide a full size, at 6'2" 270 with a 49" chest i don't think i am that fat as i have known a few that could hide a ma deuce :-laf

My Glock 22 . 40 cal. is too big to CC during the warmer months, now when it cools down I can do it. I know it's not very big but I carry a Bersa . 380 when its warm outside.

OK?... ... . I guess after firring thousands of rounds through glocks it just hard to "get the picture" of what you are talking about. Its not a problem for me.

i've known a few people who can't naturally shoot a glock, i am somewhat odd in my group in the fact i switch from a revolver to a 1911 then a glock sometimes in the same competition, most people i know can only do two good and quick with the 3rd gun taking a change in pace, i am not usually that good weak hand but in run and gun type exercises it doesn't matter which hand the glock is in, last event i did where we did the coarse one direction strong and the other direction weak a couple of them i almost put em in the same hole with the glock
