2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission CD Player broken

Hi all,



Anybody got any ideas or solutions to my malfunctioning CD player? It is the single disc Infinity. Ejected a CD the other day and it won't take another one.

When I start the truck it make the noise like it is trying to injest or eject a disc but it won't take one. Almost like it is jammed or something.

No luck on a forum search. Maybe it is time for a new truck?





Is there a way to reset or fix it short of a . 40 cal bullet?

The CD player problem was common on these trucks. Mine did that under warranty so they replaced the unit. No problems since

Maybe you should talk to my wife. I'm all set, got a color picked out and everything. She even went for the test drive with me! Then SHE has second thoughts. Something about 2 mortgages, childs education, food on the table, blah blah blah.



She never lets me have any fun.

The cd player in our 2k doesnt work either. Every time you put a cd in... there is an error message that comes up on the front panel and then it spits the cd out...

We have tried new cd's, old cd's... . it doesnt make any difference... Any idea's?????

This guy advertises on e-bay for repair, including CD repair but the cost is $125.

Now if anyone has a CD player that is not functioning properly and needs to get rid of it I will accept it. I have a CD player that has a broken front panel and also the board behind that got cracked. So, if you're replacing your radio because it doesn't play CD's please let me know as I could use one for spare parts (will pay a reasonable cost). By the way mine is the one with the 3 equalizer knobs not 5. Thank you to anyone willing to help.

radios from 94-02 2gen will work if you do not have steering wheel controls. 97 and up have a slot on the back for steering wheel control. ones out of the cars have different color lights on them. check e-bay got a new one last year for $230. takes 15 mins to replace.
