This just came up a few days ago on my 2013. It currently has 35k miles, real close to out of warranty and the check engine light re: DEF an Nitrogen Cat below threshold came on. I had about 1/4 tank of def left, I don't usually let it get that low but I clearly had at least that much. After letting Autozone give me the code, and filling up with a jug of juice, I am hoping the light will reset itself as the sales guy said it would. Is this even possible?? Thanks

I' had this code come up a few times I started a thread about it. Last time they said it was just a re-flash. Hate to say it but you've got a date with the dealer's service shop in your near future.

You're about out of your bumper to bumper warranty, but you have plenty to go on engine/emissions warranty.

Quick update. Truck went to dealer yesterday and they ordered a cat. converter for it. I don't know why I just don't have any confidence in them. Being under basic warranty, it seems they just start with the most expensive stuff and will work backwards. I thought these cats. are meant to last 10 years or more, not less than 3. We will see, more later.

Maybe they meant the SCR, which is what got replaced when this happened to me earlier this year. I was on I10 in New Mexico when I got the P20EE code and the truck started a 200 mile countdown to limp mode. Ended up at a small dealership in Deming. Took a week to get the part and the new SCR required a PCM flash because it doesn't have an ammonia sensor like the original SCR did. Haven't had a problem since. - John

If its the SCR, be glad they're replacing it. Something about the SCR's in the 2013's shortened their life. I almost wonder if it was a programming issue that an RRT was supposed to fix. I hope they have to replace mine before the warranty expires. I suspect something about the 2013's when they came from the factory was amiss.

I don't know specifics. Just seems like alot of 2013 SCR's are being replaced. If there was a problem with the quality of them, I want mine replaced too.

As all things wear out and eventually rust through. I would like to have a new one.

I have had my share of CEL's. But recently, have gone without. I think some 2014's have also been replaced.

You quoted an expected life of 10 years. Maybe 10, maybe 12.

If your 10 year count down starts at 0, that's good for you. You probably have another 10 years. They have been replacing them with an improved one

I had one in 24K. Cleared it with my code reader and haven't seen it since. Flukes happen with these EPA creatures. If it doesn't happen again, consider it a fluke. My opinion.
