CEL & Code P242

I jumped in the truck tonight, started it up and the CEL was on. Checked for the code with the DashHawk and it showed a P242... what is that for? I searched this forum and couldn't find anything on P242. I did get the CEL to go off by restarting the truck a couple of times but haven't driven it yet to see if it stays off.

I just ran your VIN, and Dealer Connect came back w/ these results as far as possibilities based on a P242:



P242B-EXHAUST GAS TEMP SENSOR CIRCUIT PERFORMANCE - BANK 1 SENSOR 3

P242C-EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW - BANK 1 SENSOR 3

P242D-EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH - BANK 1 SENSOR 3

P242F-DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER RESTRICTION - ASH ACCUMULATION

Flash time? I just had the G30 and reflash done on 11/30. Is there another one already?

Yes ,new flashes for both the 07. 5 (AW)and 08(AM)

Code P242

Well still getting the P242 code once in a while and I just had a reflash done in late April, not sure what one it was. Any ideas on why this code keeps showing up? It appears that in searching this forum that I am about the only one that ever sees it. There is no letter after the 2, just the P242.

I had the code P242F pop up last night. I replaced the DPF 10k ago so it shouldn't be accumalated that much. My understanding is that a bad sensor will send the code.
