Do they convince or help you make a purchase?
I am not talking about the athletes who advertise their respective sports (Nascar drivers/car racing, football players/NFL advertising, basketball players/NBA, etc. as this seems natural) but the various other celebrities who hawk products (actress/cell phones, actor/whiplash lawyer???, singer/cars, etc. ), does it work?
Some of the advertising is funny, interesting, but does it make you buy a product (especially if the celebrity does not fit the product except for the fee they receive).
I understand(?) that a lot of celebrities go to Japan to advertise for a big fee, but do not do this in the U. S. , to protect their image
