Is anyone planning on selling their Ram?

R. eble will sorry to hear about your problem. I guess none of the services are good everywhere. What I am hoping for is one that is reasonably good most places. A guy told me once Nebraska was terrible just no cellular sites to far apart to get good coverage all the time. Hopefully that has changed. Seems like one person says a service is good and another says the opposite. I guess I have to make my best shot and see what happens.

Thanks all for your input it is great!!!! #ad

As a trucker, I have a fair amount of experience using AT&T across the country. The coverage is pretty good in most places, New Mexico (I40) is on place they don't seem to have roaming agreements in place with the local providers. Its not uncommon to get a message asking for a calling/credit card to make a call(then I simply hang up). Most other places I'm able to use it. If you really want to make a call without it breaking up, you need to stop and make the call while stationary. External antennas help, and Wilson has come out with a new one that's supposed to be the hot ticket(about $60 I think), but I haven't tried it yet myself.

I have Verison and the new Nokia 5165. I dont use it much, but it works good. I got an external 7 db antenna, and coax adapter.
While on vacation summer before last, I called the wife from a camp ground near Cedar Point Ohio. It was a $20. 00 call!! Verison made it all good. The dealer didnt program it properly, their fault.

BTW I've heard that AT&T will combine (buy?) with a lot of other companies this year, and will have better coverage.

Well, I'm inthe wireless bus and AT&T or a Suncom affiliate usually comes out on top. I've used Sprint, Verizon and SBC phones in the past while working and building new systems, usually in the midwest. They got holes, as does the two I mentioned. ATT&T and Suncom seem to be less holes.

AS earlier stated teh key is getting a car kit, hands free talking, better reception big time and if you get the new motorola phone voice activated dialing. However i prefer the Nokia brand phones. These areeasy to use with one thumb, one fat thiumg in my case, and have features that really add to the product. Being out west a Suncom brand will be hard to find, but if you travel to midwest you can find them.

To reduce your cost shop the plans man. you can get some good ones, avoid roaming fees and try to estimate your minutes of use, if in doubt go high, it saves in the long run.

Hope this helps and everyone keep using those phones. I NEED THE WORK!!!!!

Cellular 4 Less out of Las Vegas was quoting me $42 a month for 150 minutes anywhere in the 50 states. another $60 for another 450 minutes.

Darren recommended Nokia (forgot the model #)it's a triple mode, and I believe they use Verizon.

Sounding better all the time. Still looking and will report back.

Like the tips on external antennas and the rest... .

I agree with the guys above. My wife and I both have AT&T one rate phones... and as many times as we have travelled between the midwest states to the west coast, I have never had a problem with reception nor quality. Including when I travelled up to BC to see Bill Kondolay. With all this, also take in account that the AT&T customer service has always treated me great!! JMHO

Signed up for Air Touch and never had a phone when I needed it. Changed to Nextel and it has always worked where there is coverage.

Hired a new manager and he saved us big bucks by changing to Verizon, who of course bought Air Touch. First time out, same problems as with Air Touch. Lots of loooong wait time to talk to anyone, and really poor customer service. Telephone didn't work and Computer hookup didn't work either once I left San Diego. I've had too many I don't knows and it aughta work next time to ever consider verizon again.

Went back to Nextel. I need the computer link and it worked first time out of the gate and was as solid as a land line. I'll know more about it after my next trip. So far customer service has been excellent, and better yet I didn't need it except to add the computer link.

My niece has sprint and it seems like an excellent plan. Hers works where ever she goes.

Just my . o2 belly aches.

Well I asked my over the road trucker kid brother why he did not like AT&T. He said coverage was good. It was he kept track of minutes on real close. I guess when he was using other services and they billed AT&T would be late thus some months he exceeded his minutes even though he was sure he did not. Course if you get more minutes than you need this probably won't happen but you pay for more minute plan than you need. Thanks everyone for the input!!!

Use the Verizon wireless Phone.
I am an interstate truck driver and no matter where you are in the united states, I pay only one price every month for a certain amount of airtime. If you go over that time limit, you pay only the extra airtime and no tolls at all!!
This is the best I have seen so far and I have had voicestream before and it was a joke
