Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Roadwarrior!

I can't say yay or nay on its validity..... but a very, very close friend is adamant about these things and she thought that I should have one of these Biopro things on my cell phone.

I don't think we need to worry much about the radiation that killed Madam Curie as the opening part of the video talks about, but I do understand EMF etc from my work; knowing that cell phones put out around 300mW of power (which isn't much) there are many other sources of EMF that we are surrounded by daily and can't do much about unless we remove ourselves from the field.

In any event, I've got one on my personal cell and "we're" all happy now... ... :)

I believe EMF's are a real thing and very potentially harmful. I just recently learned that you can't buy a cell phone in Europe without a magnetic shield of somesort in it.

My wife and I just purchased a home here outside of Portland and did a bit of research on big power lines and the affect. Most of the studies seem to have been in UK and the conclusion I came to was to make sure your home is over 500 ft. from the lines... ... . ours is 850. Does'nt give us much leway but most of the studies showed that there was no coorelation between health hazzards, mainly lukemia in infants, and power lines.

I don't know if I believe all the studies from a standpoint of who is paying for the studies and thier influence over them. But, these newer studies do tend to point to one thing... ... ... your better of not holding that cell phone too close to your head for too long!

My niece has had a cell phone stuck in her ear since the time she was 9... ..... now she's 21 and she's dumber than a box of rocks... ... . maybe it's true, look at much of the youth in this country and tell me that lots of them don't look zapped... :-laf . Not to laugh at a very scary possibility, but I was one of the ones who rode around the block as a kid through the fog of DDT after the spray truck came by... ... ... oh by the way, that's prolly why I don't make sence on this board sometimes, that's my disclaimer!

I believe in the EMF factor, but it is these little devices that can "stop" the harmful radiation that have me skeptical. AKDrifter... ..... Where abouts in Sandy do you live? I grew up in Boring. Head south on 26 out of Sandy, take a left on Kelso Road, about 3/4 of mile on the right a big two sotry house. 32545 SE Kelso Road. There is 20 acres there. Dad retired from the Portland Fire Department several years back and sold the property and the two houses on it to the "Guide dogs For The Blind" organization next door. They wanted it for possible future expansion. Dad and mom bought 160 acres in Summerville, just outside of LaGrand.

Your username, AKDrifter? Did you spend some time in Alaska? I was in Anchorage for about 3. 5 years. Best place in the world to live. Just my $. 02.

Ok, i guess we should all stop using cell phones, watching tv, using pc,s ,hair dryers, and even turning on the lights. Sorry I don't buy it. !! I work around this stuff all day long from 120 v to 69,000 v, and know people that work on voltages as high as 1 mill and some work it bare handed, some as long as 30 years and there still going strong. WE all know the risk and we all keep going on with life, using cell phones watching tv and turning on the lights. So if something ( we hope not ) dose happen we can't say we didn't know. !! Right! Just like smoking, how many years have they had that warning on the side of cigarettes and today say how bad they are but people still smoke... Even kids ... . SAD Whos to blame then.

We all take chances.....

I don't see how the shield things they sell are supposed to help, since the energy is radiated out the antenna, and that part tends to have to be unshielded so it can transmit and receive the signals. Coincidentally cellphones and the majority of other communications equipment has to be within certan limits for EMF, even in the US. Not to mention the signal the cell phone tower sends out is fairly powerful too, and wireless networking, and cordless everything to some extent.

That having been said, I'd not worry about it too much or if you are worried about it, use a headset so you can at least keep the phone itself away from your head...

I can't stand Anchorage, lived there for over 18 years. Like a northern suburb of Seattle. But once you get out of the city AK is great!

As for EMF I can't say either way. All I know is that I do things (job, play) that subjects me to things that aren't good for you. Exhaust fumes from planes burning massive amounts of 100LL fuel and turbines burning jet fuel. Oil, grease, fuel, soot ect. None of it good for you.

And didn't they say thing similar when microwaves came out? I think kids these days look zapped cause they spend too much time in front of a computer or TV. (I only use a computer for IMPORTANT things, like checking flying weather, TDR, ebay) LOL

I I I've been u using cell cellular phones for a a almost t ten years, and I I haven't noticed an any problems y yet.

Aren't some of these waves different from others though?

The main conclusion in power lines from all I read had more to do with positive ions concentrating polution into bigger moliclules so that when you inhale/ingest them they are more powerful and pack a stronger punch especially if they carry carcinogens. Meaning the "bad stuff" is grouped and clumped much like the Ionic breeze does.

I can't speek for the validity of these "cure all" little buttons without some hard ##'s from and independent, uninfluenced, unbiased credible source... ... . not the company selling them. Does antbody know of any such studdies?

Cummins Puller... ... yes I spent 6 years in Juneau and 8 years in Haines. As C. Pilot says Ak is nice once you escape the city. Still, IMHO... ... . it's a land of misfits and freakos to a large extent with some good folks here and there... ... . social fabric of "milk toast" as my insurance man once said in Haines.

I guess I should have clarified a bit... ... ... . I agree with you guys. Not the cities, but the state of Alaska is what I was referring to.

How about this idea... . Instead of putting one of those dots on everything electrical in the house, why not just wear one on your forehead all the time? Wouldn't that neutralize any EMF from anything? Maybe wear 4 or 5 of them to protect us from all directions??

Whaddya think??

Brilliant... ... incorporate it into a hat or on the ear loop of glasses... . something other than a bunch of them for... GULP... . $450 dollars or so.
