How do you keep the cat off your car

"Deadbeat"

Has anybody bought cell phones and a plan from Amazon.com? Verizon finally let me out of my contract because of bad reception and I am now looking for new phones. I've more or less decided on T-Mobile since they have a new tower 2 blocks from my home. The guy at the brick & mortar T-Mobile store said he would not be able to come close to the prices that Amazon is offering on new phones. Anyone know if there is a hidden catch somewhere if I order phones from Amazon?

The reason they are cheaper on the net is it eliminates the middle man cut.

Nextel is the same way. The stores dont offer the same deals their website does.

You have to watch when buying from Amazon, read the fine print. They will instate fees for making changes to you account. I got the same deal on a phone i saw on Amazon through Cingular when i called customer service and said, i'll can buy it from You or Them... the choice is yours.

I dont know about amazon phones but I live in Minnesota and I have had nextel, sprint, verizon, cingular, and now currently T-mobile and I can say by far I like T-mobiles reception the best I think I have had 1 dropped call in 6 months of having them and I live in the sticks.

i found the best deal on my red razr at wally world in december $62 for a 2 year upgrade with cingular, got one for me and one for moms birthday, i think they are even cheeper with a new contract, new customers get their butt kissed and people who have been with them for 10 years get the hose, the cingular store i think wanted almost 3 times what i paid for the older model phone

Thanks for the input guys. I will pay attention to the fine print details before I commit. I think I will end up going down the T-Mobile from Amazon route. I can walk away with 3 new razr phones on a family plan for $0 down. I'm in no huge hurry, so I think I will monitor the deals online for a while before I move on it. I might also try going to T-Mobile online or direct customer service rather than the store and see if they will match Amazon's price. I would think it would work to their advantage since they would not have to pay a 3rd party commission if I buy from them directly.

I have to admit I was worried about some unknown aspect of doing cell phone deals with Amazon. I've been reading lots of bad press about wirefly.com and the deals they offer are similar to what I'm seeing on Amazon. To me, "Amazon" strikes me as a strong brand name they would not want to tarnish at all so they are likely to be legit and offer above-board deals, etc rather than the shady practices that Wirefly is being accused of.

Thanks again.

Hey Deon, please think twice about the razr, my wife and sister in-law both have them and hate them. My wife cant wait for hers to break so she can get a different phone. She is on her second replacement from t-mobile, and this one so far has been ok, but she doesnt like the feel of the phone. Its really wide and even I think its a pain to hold due to the width. Just thought I would let ya know. BTW, t-mobile is probably the best bet for this area, the only place I have service issues is in Burnsville, and thats mainly due to the rolly hills of b-ville on the river side. Cool, now I can call ya and bug ya all the time, and its free!!! hahaha

Thanks for the heads up on the razr phone. I think I will give it a try in the store and see how it feels in my hand and in use. I know it is wider than most phones, but I do like that it is thiner too since I usually keep it in my pocket instead of on a belt clip.

I just ordered a Samsung T509 it is thinner than a razr I had a Razr it was ok my wife has the pink one. The t509 is not a flip phone rather a candy bar type but has a camera etc. they should have it at the tmobile store.
