Cenpeco oil?

Has anyone used this oil in there trucks? If so, please give me some feed back on what they thought about it. Pros and cons. Thanks.

That is the only oil that my uncle will use. He has Cat (2-3406's), Cummins (8. 3, VT555, 855), Allis-Chalmers (in his 2 tractors), Navistar (2-7. 3L IDI/NA), and Yanmar engines in his trucks and tractors.



A little pricey, but very good oil.



He has never had an engine problem/failure that was related to the oil. I have helped him work on some of his engines (head gaskets due to coolant leaks).



He did have an engine fail in his Allis 7060 tractor, but it was because of a headgasket that caused a loss of coolant, The guy that was running it failed to notice, and overheated it. Prior to that, the engine had over 8,000 hrs. on it, and was never opened opened up for any reason.

I just switched over to Cenpeco oil the last oil change in my truck, I am going to see if I like it. I used Shell Rotella before and have a 55 gallon barrel to use up in my tractors before I could totally witch over. I have not heard a lot about Cenpeco but what I have heard is good. It is expensive but what isn't now a days. I think the biggest difference in oil is... ..... THE PRICE

We have used Cenpeco products on the farm for as long as I can remember. Never had an oil related problem to date. Sales rep. says it's a paraffin base oil, he has explained what the advantage of this is to me before but I can't remember it off hand. Some of the owners of NTPA tractors have switched to Cenpeco, I don't know why but there must be a reason.

I have been useing Cenpeco oil for over a year now. I used some of thier fuel additives and was real impressed with them so I tried thier oil. I did a couple of oil samples and there additive package doubles and in some catagories triples Rotella.



I try to stay out of the oil wars, everyone is different, me I drive 1000 miles a week, I have 1500-2000 pounds in the bed always, I fight (literally) NYC traffic everyday box on 3x5 always, I beat the hell out of my oil, I dump it every three weeks. Cenpeco has been working good for me so far.

Prices are about the same as any other expensive oil.

I've just started to use Cenpeco within the last couple a months, next drain I will sample and see what it looks like. The guy I talked to said to take a sample at the second change and compare the wear metals to your previous oil, he said it will make you a believer. The TBN is 14, the pour point is -40, I'll have to find the spec sheet to tell you more but it is pretty impressive. When I originally heard about Cenpeco the guy was telling me a story about one of those monster diesel tractor pullers and how the guy was changing main bearings every 6 runs, after he switched to Cenpeco he was going the full season on the same bearings. Take it for what it's worth

Oh by the way you can order it direct from Cenpeco and it's about $12. 50 a gallon and available in 2 gallon jugs, drums, quarts.

I have been using it for about a year now. I used Rotella since new until about 25000, then switched to Cenpeco. I am real happy with it. This past summer I ran it 6500 miles and had 4 pulls on it before changing it (I know not the smartest) but, the analysis came back fine.

Bpostel, I am glad you mentioned this. I need to get some ordered.



For what its worth, I like their oils but I can tell you from experience their gear oil does not work well in my 5-speed manual. Went back to Castrol and it shifts fine. I still use Cenpeco in the rears and 2-speed though and have had no problem with the posi-traction (no modifier added).



I get my oil from a representative out of Barnsville, Ohio. His name is Dave Fitzpatrick and his number is 1 (800) 425-1865. He even delivered it my work place in Canonsburg PA.
