As you know, the center console flips up to make the back of a buddy seat, or down to make an arm rest. Mine seems to be stuck in the 'up' position... I can swing it down no more than maybe a quarter of an inch before it feels like I'm hitting a lock or something. It's a hard stop... not like it's catching on munged-up debris or something. Used'tuh work fine... now it don't.

Anyone else run into this problem? Suggested fixes?

Not yet but please post the results when you get it fixed. From what I've seen it is just a matter of time before it happens to me.

Pull the whole console over to the left and as your pulling pull it down.

Thanks, Michael... this works! While waiting for a reply I also discovered another fix: looking at the driver's side end of the hinge the console swings on, you'll see a large plastic cover with one large central phillips screw head. Press gently on this cover at 3 o'clock of the screw head.

So, OK, now I've got a fix. Anybody have a repair? It's not real clear, just from looking at it, what's gotten bolloxed up in there.

Mine got so difficult to put back down, I removed the whole center seat. It is just a plow truck, so there's more of the tow strap, jumper cable, ice scraper, kind of stuff in the truck and it makes them easier to find.

Do you think its actually a "repair" or is it suppose to lock????

Well, the owner's manual doesn't discuss it, so if it's 'supposed' to lock then I'd have to call it an 'undocumented feature'. No, I'm pretty sure it's a malfunction.

i had after market bucket seats in my ford truck and they were release by driver puting arm across the middle seat back rest and pulling it toward driver seat. the man i got the seats from said almost all seats release this way. it is required by law according to him that the seat lock upright. this method releases my o2 but it is harder!! robert
