Today the center white part of the lense fell out of my diProcal EGT gauge. It's sitting in the bottom of the lense and interferes with the movement of the hand. Has anyone else had this happen?

Should I call the manufacturer direct (India?) or call the place I bought them from? I got them from Diesel Performance of Utah.

The gauges have worked flawlessly until this.

Thanks,

Blake

Blake, that's what happens when you slam the needle against the peg at 1600F all the time :p

Seriously I would contact the vendor you got them from and see if they can do anything about it. Unless it's under warranty you may be SOL and have to buy a new gauge.

I'm sure diPricol has a US contact don't they?

contact your vendor. They are usually under warranty and replaced for free. I have had two on two different trucks do it. I think it is more likely to happen from extreme heat, like leaving your windows up.

I've heard more bad stuff about DiPricol gauges than any other brand... why are they so expensive?

I like my DiPricols, but if I had to do it again I would have gone for autometers again. I would have bought autometers this time if I would have realized you could get a 60psi boost gauge in the phantom series.

Must be the shipping from India, just kidding. I would stick with Autometer, great product and great customer support direct from Autometer. I called them and talked to a tech when I had a question about an install.

guage

Mine did the exact same freakin thing. What a PITA. Let us know what they do for you. I just assumed that I would have to pay for a new one but if you get yours replaced under warraty , that would be just great>

Thanks

I thought they or it(EGT) could be disassembled. Anyway, I put a cummins sticker over the white dot and use the gage on the piller by itself. Thought about using a mopar sticker but , did'nt do it. Get the sticker face out of TDR mags and place paper adhesive ont it. I would try leaving the foam dot out if it was me !

When the dot falls down it makes the needle hang up. the needle reads fine on the way up, but doesn't always fall properly. Also, as I said before they are usually covered under warranty.

I hate to say it, but I'm on my 4th gauge now because of the same reason. Vendor stands behind it but its frustration none the less.

Mine has moisture inside the dial on the lense, luckly its located in the center part of the dial. Its not much of a problem as your guage is.

Do they really come apart?

Do they really come apart?? If they do, all I would have to do it remove the piece inside and put a sticker over the middle. If they come apart - how?

Thanks.

Yep, happened to me too. Call Ken, he'll replace it. He's already replaced two for me. If anything goes wrong with this one I'm going to can it and get a Westach.

Is the face glass or plastic? If plastic, I think I could drill a little hole in the middle, hold the gauge so the center moves back where it should be, and squeeze a little bit of super glue through the hole to hold it.
