Shop Day at Garmon's

Rprovence son needs help in Virginia

Oh and if anyone is taking collections for hurricane victims down there I'll see what I can gather here from Jacksonville - just let me know tonight so I'll have a day to gather whatever is needed up.....

Jim... dyno... or no?

As for collections I am sure someone there will know. Being in Ocala I'm far enough away to not know who's doing what down there but a lot of the folks coming Saturday live closer to the area so they may now.

Sure put me down for a dyno - do you think there'll be enough time to do a stock run early then install the gauges and TST and a post TST run in the after noon? - I'll try to install what cabling i can before the trip and try to save some time...

If not I'll just be happy to hang for the day...

I think at the very least you can do a stock run... then hook up the TST. I think if you stay at 4/4 with the TST you won;t risk hurting anything without the guages for the short time ont he dyno... Mark Gonske may have better info as he runs a TST already.

I'm willing to help with the guages install but I don;t know if there will be time to get them done and run the dyno... but it's possible.

Is the EGT sensor a 1/4" NTP or 1/8" NTP?

How early did you want to get started on Saturday? I need to leave Ocala but about 830 AM to be at PDQ by 10 which is when we're starting. If you wanted to get to my house by about 630 or 7 we could get a good bit of it done before needing to leave... . just a thought. I know it'd be out of your way but I figure I;d toss it out there. Unless you're free tomorrow... I'll be home all day after 10 AM.

EGT is 1/4" NPT - painless wiring kit should be here today (for future stuff)

I'll try to route some wiring tonight or tomorrow night -

I can't make it tomorrow - and how early Sat. depends on how long I will have to work Fri night - its been balls to the wall this week :)

Boost bolt should be here today or tomorrow - same for the TST

Is there still slots left for the dyno? I am about 50% sure I will be able to come down and run. Been away from work for a few days helping out in south florida. Now trying to get caught up here to be free for the weekend. Hope to be there.

Jim

I'll be there - I'v got the boost and pyro mounted and gauge set - just need to tie the wiring in -

See y'all Sat. morning I am looking forward to it-

Had a great time today guys! Learned a lot and got to see some good action... . poor guy that blew his up...

Hope everyone had a good time.

How 'bout that rain!!! SHEESH!

yeah nasty drive home - didn't make the draft in time hehe...

Thanks guys for all your help and nice to meet all of you... .

Look forward to the next meet... .

Jim

You mean the rain so hard that you could not see the paint stripes on the road? Definitely driving by "braile"

Bob Weis

I was starting to think that it was a blizzard because of the near 'white out' conditions we had from the rain. Now that was a Florida downpour!

Thanks for your hard work getting things together Jason. It was a lot of fun and it was nice to know that some of the Central Florida TDR guys can actually make some serious smoke! They'll be cleaning their driveway for weeks after the soot Mark put down. It was a little sad seeing that 3rd gen on the flatbed, but it was sweet listening to Jim's truck towing it when he got on I-4. That thing sounds like a tractor!

Looking forward to next time...

What were some of the numbers laid down?

I was really disappointed in mine. Highest HP was 326, but highest torque run was only 308HP with 562 ft-lbs, and that was with EZ on 4 and TST on 4/4. I was getting high-EGT limit defueling on all my runs--worst (of course) with the TST on 6/6.

I saw 295 HP and 562 ft lbs with the EZ on 4.

I am thinking we may have seen some higher torque numbers as they did not begin the 'test window' until 2,000 RPM's. Now HP peaks usually at 2900 with the cummins BUT our torque max should be seen closer to 1500 RPMs... next time I'll see if they can begin the window at say 1200 RPMs... just to see.

Mark... I really think you;d have seen much higher numbers if not for the EGT's so hypothetically you did have the highest numbers there.

"Hypothetically" don't win races...

... or pull loads up mountains!

But I do appreciate the little ego boost there ;)

I suppose I should start a new thread on possible air upgrades (repeating step 2). Lots of factors to consider and discuss.

You might consider dropping either the TST or the EZ. Not both but one or the other. The TST is awesome but Jim popped 1550* with TST on 4/4 on his 600. I think it's to agressive without having to do a bunch of other $$ stuff.

I was considering running a TST stacked like you but am now thinking about some injectors. I don;t need 500 RWHP BUT the 350-400 range would be nice and should be able to be done without pegging the EGT guage. I am going to do my exhaust first and see how much of a temp drop I get... 1300* was the hottest it got but it was already at 3100 RPM and immediately started defueling... so I think with the EZ I'm pretty safe. I think I can hit 350 HP and 7?? ft/lbs without breaking the bank.

Does anyone know how injectors will do with the EZ? Or if it can be done at all?
