"18th Annual Mopar Madness " Show...

Benefits the Clark Burn Center Of Syracuse. .

Sunday July 29th Central NY Mopar Association has their annual show at Longbranch Park In Syracuse,NY. The cost for registration is $10/vehicle entered with registration open from 8am until Noon. Judging is participant judging from Noon until 1pm with all awards handed out at 3pm. They have along with the show vehicles,a car corral and a swap meet.

This a great show and the club are some of the nicest people I have come across at shows. I stumbled into this show a few years ago when they held it over at the Cayuga County fairgrounds in Weedsport,NY. It was moved to Syracuse and the show keeps getting larger. You will find alot of cars that do not make trips down to the lower shows and I have been impressed with the cars I have seen while attending.

Anyway, this is for a good cause and I will make the trip up for this one. I usually end up classified with the lifted Gassers and feel all alone as I usually the only diesel there. If anyone slips in I will see them there or stop by and say Hi,usually I can not be missed. I will leave my area down here about 4am or so for the trip up I-81. . Upstate NY gang, heres your show,in your back yard Look for you there... ..... Andy

CNY Mopar Show Registration

Well what do you get when you mix a BassMasters Tournament,Ripken & Gwynn in the Hall and a Mopar show?.....

A huge traffic mess on I-81 which resembled some I have seen in big cities like Chicago,NYC and LA. Leave it to me to get a bright idea about driving some 300+ miles due to my love for anything Mopar on a day that had Ripken going into the hall. Needless to say, traffic was bad, peoples tempers were short, throw in PA one lane construction jams and whalla... . Can You say "Loose It". At one point up in Great Bend two drivers were so upset they were outside knocking the dog snot out of each other along the median of I-81. I guess I should have got out and played promoter and sold tickets for the extravaganza,LOL. Oh yeah,my fun for the ride home, loose the A/C in the midst of it all and then have to drive through a flood in York due to extremely heavy rain later that night. Good news is I learned during the rain that Honda's do not float and will swiftly be swept away when the driver of said Honda attempts to cross water up halfway over his doors.

Ah well,all in a days travels. .

For a small club they sure put on a heck of a show with loads of nice cars and trucks about. Its a shame that the Upstate NY diesel heads, who are always wanting something to do,didn't show at all none of them, leaving me the only oil burner in the show field. The amount of people who didn't think anyone messed with diesels amazes me and I even had some who were in amazement when I tell them of what the big guns can lay down. As I had said,I didn't fare to well at all in the show field. I was classified with tons of fan favorites but I did get the long distance award as I figured.

All in all it was a great trip and worth the hassles, even the one home without the A/C and avoiding the Honda U-boat. I will post some pics tomorrow as I am wiped out from all the sun and driving. This is a nice show that you may wish to add to your list of shows for next year. I was asked to try and bring more diesels with me as they would like to see more there. I am off for a well needed nap... ... ... ..... Andy

I would have liked to come but i found out to late to really plan anything, but i will now, im sure i can round up a small crew to come next year. When you find out when it is in 2008 let us know in the Ny thread.

Please tell me you have pictures of the fight ! ! !

Nope...

I was too dumb founded that they were fighting over something so stupid and when I did finally get the camera out PSP Officer Jabroney showed up and broke it up.

DD. .

You missed on heck of a show within a hour of your house. My personal favorite was seeing the dude fall off his bass boat into the lake,LOL. This is a show where you can come out and have a great time and enjoy some fine cars from years gone by... ... Andy

Rob. .

No biggie dude, but, there were alot of nice cars, trucks were limited in appearance but still was worth the ride.

Here are the shots I took while roaming about while there. Now I did not get all of the cars in attendence as my knees wore out before my camera did... ... Andy

Hammer, sorry about that! I planned on showing up and saying "HI". When I remembered I had 1/2 a truck load of stone in the shed. :{ By then I had to finish that project. Next year!

Nice job on the album!:D I almost went but, after driving since 1 a. m. to PA traffic was so bad in Jersey/NYC and it was POORING!! So we figured maybe next time. ;)
