Anyone know where this is located, My keyless entry stopped working and Im going to try to fix it. I was hitting the locks manually and could feel a relay thump under the dash but I wasnt sure if that little black box was it.

Thanks jim

Don't want to state the obvious..... but have you checked the batteries in the remote?

Mine stopped working last week, changed batteries... . all's well. :)

Yes I changed batteries

Also I opened the box and found that there were nobroken connections on the board,So i wrapped it up and put it back in and it worked. Stumped:confused: Anyt way for those of you who have to replace the cenral timing unit . Dont let the dealer do it . It can be done yourself the programming codes are inside of the box itself and the manual describes how to program the remotes.

carhauler,

TSB 08-26-00 Central Timer Module Electrically "Locks-Up" describes a condition where strong electromagnetic fields or devices that transmit signals in the 315 Mhz range may cause the Central Timer Module (CTM) to intermittently lock up. In the diagnosis section of the TSB, it states: If the customer indicates that they may have experienced one or more of the above conditions but were able to correct the condition by removing power to the CTM (pull fuse 13 - power door lock fuse or disconnecting the battery) and the condition cannot be duplicated, perform the Repair Procedure.

This bulletin is for 2000-2001 models. If your truck is affected and still under warranty, take it to the dealer and describe make sure they are aware of the TSB.
