I have a 2005 3500 SRW 4x4 with stock forged wheels. I tried to install the Centramatic rings and I definitely need the spacer to clear the caliper on the front wheels.

On the rear wheels the caliper is not an issue. However, three of the lug bolts each have a metal washer preventing me from installing the ring flush. Can i remove these "metal washers"?

Thank you

Welcome to the TDR.

I have had these same units on my 2003 3500 SRW with no problems. Did you contact Centramatic to verify you have the correct balancers?

You definitely need to remove the washers before installing the Centramatics, it should be clearly stated in the instructions. As for the spacers, I have a 2500, and thought for sure I needed the spacers, but as it turns out, I didn't as I was able to flip the units the other way, they actually do touch the wheel but they don't have any flex. Just make sure you use the ones with the offset on the front and the flat ones on the rear.

Hope this helps.

A search will reveal at least one discussion on this subject that I was involved with. I tried the centramatics, but after grinding on the caliper they still would not clear on the passenger side on my truck. I ended up giving them to my father for his '02 and ordered Balance Masters for mine. If for some reason you can't get them to fit, you're not crazy.

Those little "washers" are placed at the factory to hold the rotors in place while the wheels are installed. They must be removed prior to installing Centramatics. I think it's easiest to cut them off with some line cutters.

It took me awhile to get my Centramatics on because the hole positions for the wheel studs are such a close fit. I had to carefully index each balancer until I found a position that fit. Once I got them to fit I marked their position so I can find it again.

I also had to grind the casting line on my front calipers. No big deal.
