Tried the fronts tonight - they fit.

2003 3500 SRW QC with FACTORY aluminum wheels (not the polished wheels), original rotors.

First of all, I don't recall anyone pointing out that you should remove the rotor retaining rings prior to installing the Centramatics. Those little rings (there are 4 of them per wheel) get in the way.

Although it's very hard to tell, it appears there's around 0. 025" - 0. 030" clearance between the Centramatic and the caliper adaptor with the wheel installed and the lug nuts torqued to ~133 ft*lb. I checked by trying to slide a 0. 035" diameter MIG welding electrode between the adaptor and the Centramatic. It cleared everywhere except for a little bit of binding on the passenger side in one spot where the casting mold line on the adaptor is particularly thick. I installed the Centramatic on that wheel, torqued the lug nuts, rotated the wheel many times trying to listen for rubbing, then removed the wheel and the balancer to see if there were any marks from the caliper on the backside - there were none.

Drove home on the highway up to 65 mph. I didn't notice any improvement in vibration, but I didn't really have any vibrations to speak of prior to installing the balancers.

For those who asked what color these are - they're unfinished aluminum. In my opinion, they match the factory unpolished aluminum wheels perfectly.

My only "complaint" is that the tolerance on the locations for the stud holes on the balancer are VERY TIGHT. I had to keep indexing them over by 1 position until I found a position that allowed them to slip on relatively easy. Would've been nice if the holes were a few thousandths larger diameter.

If you try these and have clearance issues with the caliper adaptor, don't be shy about grinding some of the adaptor away.

Ryan, I guess I forgot about the retainers. I removed them of course since they are not needed except on the assembly line. Good point though, someone might have tried to install the Centramatics over those clips and bent things up a little bit.

I doubt someone would get too far with the rotor retaining clips still on - but then again dessicant packs are labled "do not eat" for somebody.

My Centramatics are currently with my father to see if they will fit his truck (since they didn't fit on mine). The Balance Masters I ordered arrived two days early and are already on my truck. They are significantly thinner, and clear both fronts easily. The quality control is a little more lax than the Centramatics - the tube cross section varies in both size and shape from balancer to balancer. They do seem to work however - Discount Tire can't seem to balance my 35" TrXus MTs, but the Balance Masters are doing much better. Removed all the wheel weights last night.

I felt around behind my installed Centramatics today (after about 30 miles worth of highway driving). I feel some grooves on the backside of the passenger-side balancer, roughly where that particularly high spot in the mold line I alluded to in my last post rides. Odd thing is, I can only feel the grooves over about 3/4 of the balancer- not the whole thing. That implies a slight out-of-roundness of something in the assembly.

I doubt I'll bother removing that wheel to check it until my 60k tire rotation (about 2 months from now). I figure the "damage" has already been done - grinding off the mold line now won't serve any purpose. I highly doubt the integrity of the balancer has been harmed in any meaningful way.

Installed them today on an 06 SRW 3500 with alunimum wheels

Front is the ones with the dish pressed into them (I think marked B) with the ring out.

Ring presses against rim. RF worked OK, LF I had to grind flashing off the Calaper mount. Rear fit perfect

I had a vibration in the rear since I got the truck (500 miles), but on Centramatics and vibration is gone! When you first hear them in the box you think "that's going to drive me crazy driving", but when moving slow I can't hear it even with the windows open.

Hey guys

I just installed my Centramatics on my 06 MC. The fronts just clear the calipers but do not rub. Problem is, the truck shakes worse than before I put them on. I did not put them on myself. My buddy has a tire store and his guys took five minutes to put them on. dished ones on the front, flat ones on the back. They did not say they had to take off any clips. What do you think is wrong

Tire guys should know all about the clips. But I would not assume anything - I'd make sure they didn't forget to torque lugnuts or something. If they did leave some clips on, a wheel might not even be mounted straight. Define "shake" - are we talking bump induced or speed dependent tire balance kind of shake? Unless the media is stuck somehow, those things shouldn't be causing shake.

It shakes the steering wheel and the front of the truck at 50 MPH. It is farley smooth until you get to 50 MPH. You can drive threw it and is smoothes back out until around 70 MPH. I have not had the time to take them off this weekend. May be on Monday. I tried to call Centramatics on Saturday but no one was home. The Big O Tire did torque the wheels and they did know what they where. Is there clips on the back as well. It does not feel like the rear has any balance problems. Thanks.

I'm assuming you ordered your centramatics either by phone or the internet. Did you tell them what size tires you are running? Don't know, but I would think that 37" tires would weigh a lot more than stock tires and would possibly need a larger size ( more weight) than the stock ones. Just a thought. Mine work perfectly with 265/70/17 Pirelli's, no wheel weights at all.

I installed a set on my 03 with aluminum wheels. The only way they would fit was to install the A & Bs opposite of what the instructions say. (Front vs. Rear)

They work great so far.
