For you guys running an ATS exhaust manifold and have gotten it ceramic coated where did you have it done? How do you like the coating?

When I order mine, it will be from Piers. If you wanted it done, he use to send it for the company, and then they sent it straight to you. That was how he USE to do it from what I have heard.

Airborne Coatings

I had mine Aluminum Ceramic Coated inside & out at Airborne coatings for 75 bananas. They did a great job. They must have lots of confidence in their product not to flake off to spray the inside on a turbo application. Lots of places wil not coat the inside on a turbo application. After a year it stll looks nice too. :)

Having the inside coated would be the same for the outside. To help prevent rust and also to control heat better. I still have yet to see a coating last more then 2 or three years. On the inside it would probably be less.

Order from Piers. He shipps to Performance Coatings. It took them a week to coat mine. They ship to you. About two weeks in my case but I live in Nevada. Your shipping time might be more.

$425 for manifold. $155 for coating.

Doug,

Dad's had his on for well over a year now and has had not trouble of his Jet Hot coating. If I were you I'd get the manifold, take it out and make sure all the ports line up clearly everywhere, do any small port matching to ensure all your transitions are smooth, and then send it to get it coated. He has the Jet Hot 2000 inside and out, and it came out as a light gray. Even after blasts to 1700+ degrees it has not discolored a bit. I think the inside "flow coating" is beneficial because it smooths the inside surface and will help keep the heat out of the metal and in the exhaust gas itself. For what it's worth, I have seen other coatings peel off after time, but haven't seen anything bad out of the Jet Hot applications that I have seen.
