so i'm thinking about a trip to oregon again but i plan on bringing the camper. acording to odot i am required to bring chains (since i will be over 10k gross actually i will be 11k or more)... . first off what kind do you guys recommend for the 4x4 with 19. 5 srw. also do i need 4 of them or just 2. i would expect just two would stress the transfer case since 2 wheels are constantly slipping... if i do use 2 where do they go? on the front?

I believe out here in Colorado you dont need chains on a 4wd you may want to check into that, otherwise just a set of chains in the rear would be fine. If you have a trailer a set on one of the brake axles is nice to but not necessary.

Here in Oregon if the sign says chains required there will be a trooper there making you put them on. You are not however required to carry them at all times.

I always chain the front on mine. The front generally has more weight and the ability to steer.
