Yes, with the new setup it always runs lean and mean!

We dont need smoke or noise to make power :D

I might pull sanctioned next year provided I have another truck and trailer to haul my junk with. And provided I dont have to spend too much to keep this 3rd gen running this year. I dont like the sanctioning body rules I prefer to pull at the local brush pulls where you "run what ya brung".

Too much sanctioning pushes people away that run street driven trucks.

Carey's truck looks like its running fine to me. In fact I think he had one of the best hooks of the night. I figured that I would be about 10 or so feet behind him but I ended up 13' ahead almost out into the grass! :-laf

If I would have dropped a lower gear I probably would have been about 10' less that would have probably still put me in the win.

For comparisons sake I put 14' on Bryan's truck at the Franklin pull and he won the 8k class at Daleville.

I was also 6' behind Coppess in the Pro at Franklin a couple weeks back.

Too bad I didnt get to pull against you Dan I might have made a believer out of you as well! :-laf

I think my truck throws alot of people off since it doesnt smoke, doesnt roll in on a trailer, and doesnt make a bunch of noise (and it had bird poop on the hood)

But that does not by any means equate that it doesnt run very well. It just doesnt have all the bells and whistles that the others pullers have.

It also doesnt mean that someone else had a bad run and that I lucked into the win.

The sled was plenty heavy and I had a great hook. Which I thought could have been even better if I would have slipped a bit more.

The 3rd gen continually amazes me. I think our variable timing helps us out a bunch.

Another thing to remember is that I only reach 3100rpm's as a max going down the track. Most of the "smoker" trucks would fall flat on their face at that rpm where mine is cooking... .

As I remember a while back some of the Cummins guys were accusing a Duramax puller of running gas since he didnt have any smoke during his pulls (or that it cleaned up to nothing). But I can attribute that to common rail fuel technology and a great running motor.

Any time ANYBODY wants to come and check under my hood or under the truck or inside of it for that matter they are welcome to.

Some of of these "bad" pullers have a coronary just when you go look at their truck up close

I wasn't saying that your truck doesn't run well. I just know what I have seen from Clarks truck last year, and it just doesn't seem to be as hot or something. Cause I really don't think mine runs that great yet this was the first year we have went head to head, but comparing his truck to others trucks and then those trucks to my truck, you know. I have a lot of tuning yet to do. I think that is one advantage the 24V and the 3rd gens have is the engine tuning is easier to do. Of course the 3rd gens have to try multiple box combinations until they get the one that best suits their needs. What EGT's do you see running down the track?
