The wittle furd thought he could! Ha

100 degree drop in EGT with a new manifold????

Wondering if anyone has used a chambered flowmaster with their diesel. . I used a Magnaflow turbo muffler, which is basically a straight through muffler that does very little, and it was loud as hell, annoying enough for me to consider this. . I don't want to compromise any performance, but if I can tone down the noise just a hair then I think I'll do it. . Anyone used one of hte chambered flowmasters? There is nothing in there other than the baffling, they claim no performance loss versus a straight muffler because of how the chambers are designed. . I know it would fill up with soot in there, I am not bombed, basically stock tuned or just over it. . So there shouldn't be a 'ton' of smoke from this Gen 1 style mechanical injection setup, but there is some of course...

Thoughts?

In turbocharged applications, the general concensus is that any type of chambered muffler(like a flowmaster) will reduce performance. The baffles cause pulses that slow the spool up of the turbo and decrease efficiency. Of course flowmaster does make a kit, and a few people do run them.

Also, I ran one a long time ago and did notice that my EGT's were higher with it.

I have run one for over a year now, I have had no ill effects that I know of. I have run them on my gassers, I really liked how they performed, so I put one on my 05.
