had an injector replaced last week from dealer, they drained the oil , replaced injector , filled with new oil and filter. after driving for about 200 miles brought it back to dealer yesterday and it looked like oil was thinned out, and still could smell some diesel fuel on stick but not over full line. oil was not even as black ,as after a normal oil change . so i decided to change the oil again myself. thought there was still fuel in there contaminating . checked today after putting on about 75 miles and oil is as clear as when i put it in yesterday. whats up with this ? i've been doing my own oil changes from day 1 , it has never been clear, normally run truck for 5 minutes after a change and oil is black. truck is an 05 , h. o. with 34000 miles. and no smoke out the tail pipe either even with all the additives - p. s. and walmart 2 stroke tcw in every tank full. is this normal ?

When I started reading your post I thought you had an 03

Then I see you have an 05 so I'm guessing you may have the ONLY one

that does that.

Sorry I am no help :)

My guess, and only that, is that with additional changes in such a short time you removed more of the sooted oil so it didn't discolor the new oil as fast. Sort of like starting with a new and clean engine. Give it a few hundred miles and then see what your oil looks like.

Depending on how much diesel was in your oil, it cleaned out the oil pan and interior oil passages, Not good for wear, but good for cleaning. There is one quart of oil that always remains in our engines. Why did they make that bottom drain plug thread so deep in the pan? I would have preferred a side drain, with a little dimple, at the lowest spot, so you can drain out most of it. Probably half a quart sits in the upper valve cover area, and half in the oil pan.

i was about 3-4 inch's above full when code for low oil pressure code came on. tech said he believed that it was caught in time, should have no problem other than turbo possibly going. i'll chech it again in a few days and see what it looks like.

clean oil in a 05 is a really rare, hope everything works out for you. I could pour new in and drain it out without starting and its black already.
