Change out White Guage Faces

My wife and I looking at a 2003 HO Automatic. Doe anyone know if there is kit to cover the white guage face to flat black like the exisiting.

i like the white faced gauges more than the black. i think the black text on white background looks nicer and to me, is easier to read. if i could vote twice however, i would also vote other [i voted for white faced gauges though... ] as well. i do like those new autometer lunar gauges. they are pretty cool...

HO Auto 2003

We did not look at at HO auto (RE48) yet, just the HO dash in six speed, but from all read the HO auto should be available and in manufacturering in early Jan. Major improvements, Lockup in 2nd,3rd and OD, less a few other upgrades, a stronger torque converter. Downshifts in lockup and holds to 35 mph.



It could yet make us a bleiever. It be nice if Dodge did and upgrade kit for the earlier RE47's esblish a TC which is cheaper than the after market (DTT,ATS,Goehend, etc)

I do like the white face gauges on the 03's, and especialy at night. They stand right out, and are easy to see.



As to the automatic for the 03' models. I drove one (NOT AN HO AUTOMATIC) with the standard engine, and above 40 MPH when releasing the throttle or applying the brake, the TC did not disengage. It stayed engaged until the speed dropped to about 30 MPH. Perhaps DC has done some good things to this transmission.

The gauges are backlit and all you can see are green numbers and some of the marks. Like a mark for every 500 rpm on the tach. KInd of weird, its one thing I don't like about the truck. It will probably be difficult to match with aftermarket guages.

I think that most gauges are available in the white face, including the Westach Combo guage. I like the white face gauges but again it is a personal preference. I will be buying the Combo EGT/Boost guage for my new rig when it comes in. Not sure where to mount it yet.
