Have had a slightly rough idle since this motor was converted to a p7100. Decided to switch from 275s to Jammer 1s. Idle got alot worse. Did a search and came up with a few things to try, tightening or loosening governer springs, checking overflow valve, no load idle screw. I'll have some off time sunday and try changing some of these things. I'll do one thing at a time and take good notes. That way I can put everything back the way it was. The only thing I have checked so far is fuel pressure. Its 26 at idle. Sure wish I lived closer to a good diesel place. 14hrs to PDR scares me, but may be the only way.

I am not real familiar with the gen 1 engine, but I think it has a different cam profile than gen2. This may be one of the sources for your idle problem. If you installed larger injectors you may have made the proble worse, as they are giving you more fuel at the wrong time. I would PM Joseph Donnley with your question as he is a guru on cam profiles and proper timing.

If all else fails just reinstall the original injectors and re-time every thing. Then start from there.

good luck
