Changing "Anti- Spin" differntial to an open rear....opinons?

I"m surprised that happens in four wheel drive. I'd expect it if you were in two wheel. But then my Jeep is a whole lot lighter (no ls in the big truck).



I'm not surprised in the difference between shutting down for 1. 5"s of snow vs. going to school with three feet on the ground. In maine you're used to it, have the equipment, and the experience. Here if it ever snowed it would cause panic. Plows? hmmm, we'd have to make do with whatever road construction we have. Drivers would be totally unable to deal with it (cept for a few that ski a lot).

I really wish it would happen. I'd make a fortune pulling people out with my Jeep

I love this truck, but the LS is horrible in rain or anything less than dry. I have to use 4WD to keep from going sideways. So I use 4WD in the rain,snow and whatever. But the frontend binds/hops so bad going around corners that it makes me think I'll be breaking something. It makes a really bad driving experience, big time. My 1950 Power Wagon wasn't as bad!

I have an 04 with the anti-spin, use Cooper WinterMasters and sandbags in the back for the weight. The plow weighs approx 900lbs so with no weight in the back it really takes weight off the rear tires, so that's why I put the sandbags in. I have ordered the anti-spin or LSD in all of my trucks and can't imagine not having it. Never has it caused any driving issues were I feel it has put me in any danger. Yea, I can slid it sideways in the rain, but that's not the fault of the rear-end, but what I told my right foot to do.

This new truck with it's anti- spin differential is absolute crap in the snow! I know that this is not the best set- up for winter driving, but I never thought it would be as bad as it is.



I would like some feedback on changing out the factory differential to an open rear. I think I would have the dealer do the work to keep the warranty intact.

If your really serious and have 3. 73's, I would be interested in swapping diff carrriers.

9' plow up front and 1900lbs of stone in the rear and 35" a/t's. It is overkill but I couldnt be happier with my traction(especially in 2wd).

much wider tire on your newer truck is probably not helping either.
