Changing Door Lock Knobs ?

I got some really cool door lock knobs from Geno's and for the life of me I cant seem to get the old one's off. All my other cars they just screw off and I've tried by hand to get them off but can't. Affraid to use a pliers on my new 07 without asking the experts... . How the $%#$ do you get the simple lock knobs off.....

On my '03, they just unscrewed. took a lot of effort, but they do.



Beware of those billet geno's lock knobs. When it was like 10 here a few mornings ago, the cold made the plastic insert in the billets seperate and both of mine came apart when i pulled the knobs up.

If you take the little oval cover off, you'll see that they have a hex on the bottom so that you can get a wrench on them to start, then you can unscrew them by hand. The only thing I didn't like is they rattled against the plastic oval once I put them all back together so I took them off.

I was thinking about a set of these but I don't like the idea of a rattle either. Do you think there's enough clearance to install a small piece of heat shrink around it so it wont rattle?

You know what, I never thought of that, I like it!! Just make sure you keep it low enough so it won't be seen, but high enough to make contact with the oval liner (easier to point out than describe here).
