But heres the saddest news of all it took them two hours and they charged me $260 $130 a hour shop time. They did pull the covers off.The price I pay for being creeper impaired.

$130/hr is about normal. Check dealer rate, my local FCA dealer is $250/hr.

Easy peasy to farm this out, money well spent and you get to build that relationship a little with the shop.

Its unfortunately very expensive to have any sort of service business, I've been in business doing Field Service this is my 20th year. Started my business when I was 24 and sole person doing the work, I now have 22 field techs. That $230'ish is gone before you know it.

They made zero on the oil, so that plays into this as well.

Here is the AllData book time on this, and the standard procedure does list to remove the cover, but we know as stated above the more you move the more you make.

But if they took their time and did a good job well worth the few bucks, and you got your choice if oil added. Win win for sure.

havent shop rates been around 100hr forever ? in todays effed up world 130hr seems perfectly reasonable

I have not taken my truck to the shops did all my own maintenance until I had my second knee replaced. So yes maybe $130 per hour is reasonable so anyway it’s done

All our local dealers are at $230-280 per hour. Not sure how anyone affords to get repairs done. I have an RO from one of my inspections, the customer paid $1923.35 for a 120k service on his 2500 diesel.

Just for reference, I had a repair done at an Indy in Las Vegas, NV area on Monday and his shop rate was $168/hr.

I am thankful I can do all my own maintenance. Best part is I know it's done right.

Dad is slowing down a bit at 87 so it's nice I can do all his maintenance for him on his new to him 14 Laramie 3500 LB AISIN. Even doing it our selves with new Bilstien's all MOPAR AMZ/OIL filters and AMZ/OIL fluids it will be well over $1,000.

Yes maintenance cost some real money now days. Plus the broken supply chain. My step son 37 is to busy riding his fat tire and playing games on the computer to do anything so I have to buy it done but soon my time will be up so it doesn’t matter to much. Spread the money around good for the economy right
