not quite clear on your question, but for a standard shift just pull the large bolts on the bell housing and the transmission will come apart, and if its an auto, then you need to take out all six convertor bolts and then pull the transmission out. Its easier to pull the entire line that goes from the trans over to the transmission oil to engine water cooler on the side of the block. It makes it much easier to get to the convertor bolts. Make sure you get a new or rebuilt convertor to stick in.
