Getting ready to drain and refill the transmission in my sons 08. Can someone walk me through it.

Do you drain it out of the lower PTO bolt like the 5600's?

What tools do I need etc?

I removed the allen bolt on the bottom of the trans. and filled through the allen on the side that is at about the same heighth as the top bolt of the pto plate. I do not remember the size of the allen.

the g56 needs one quart over full to lube and cool the front bearing. we are still running atf4+ in most of ours but standard transmissions, the largest rebuilders of transmissions in the U. S. say to switch to penzoil syncromesh. and on the new oil changes we are using the penzoil

Yup, all the right info has been given.

14 mm drain plug on the bottom of the transmission, and fill plug on the passenger side. Over fill by 1 qt. The best fluid to use is a GL-6 lube, such as Gorilla Juice.

Please don't use ATF, despite it being synthetic, Amsoil, or whatever. I learned the hard way.

Thanks gentlemen.....

So the 14mm is the drain on the bottom?. I just bought a new allen socket (14mm), for the rear end of my 11 charger, cool.

Thanks again.

Use the lubricant it was designed to use and you can't go wrong. Pennzoil Syncromesh is not designed for use in the G56.....
