Matt, I'd say Mass is just north of the fanless line, most years. You won't have a problem at all fanless even further south if you don't block the front. Remember to disable the A/C by pulling the compressor relay under the hood or by doing Fritz's A/C switch mod.

I don't plan on blocking the front at all... . hrmmm... got me thinking.

I'm just trying to figure out what the maximum safe ambient temp. is to run fanless. New England weather is so odd... . one day its 29 degrees (today) and then it's 50 the next day (tomorrow).

Disconnect the A/C comp. ??! I'm not an HVAC guy, but I'm guessing that the condensor would get too hot... or something. The A/C sure does help speed along clearing off that darn pesky fog off the inside of your windshield... hate to loose that feature. Yet another tradeoff.

Thanks!

Matt

With my original t-stat I didn't get the temp flucuation, but I did when I installed a new one from a dealer. Pulled a fifth wheel from Tx to Or and it drove me crazy, so I bought another t-stat from the Cummins place in Portland. Problem solved. So I have to disagree that the flucuation is the nature of the beast, I'd say not all t-stats are created equally.

The part # for the new thermostat is 3934373 .

It looks the same as the original thermostat but mine only gets to about 150 deg. :{ but no swing. I'd use the original with the swing.
