What effects, if any, will changing out a stock 47re valve body to a DTT Street/Strip valve body have on my truck. Truck is stock other than a Edge EZ and Scotty 2. Trans is stock and runs fine and gets oil changed ever 30-40k. truck has 85k. Just trying to see if it would be worth the money to add some reliablity and posibly some mileage. I know close to nothing about transmissions so sorry if this is a odd question.

Thanks

a valve body alone will help up the pressures in the transmission and will improve shifts but to gain milage you should do an aftermarket converter with it. The stock converter is the weakest point of these trannys. Adding a valvebody will help it last a bit longer but I would recommend a different converter with theVB you will think you are driving a new rig with 50 more hp.

Ditto on what Billvo said. I did the ATS VB and Convertor upgrade along with the deep pan and Co-Pilot about 20K miles ago. My truck has 130K now and it is still the original transmission. I've hauled heavy trailers before but rarely over the suggested 16K for my truck and the transmission upgrade has certainly helped with the life of mine.
