Charging Batteries?

If and when you charge the batteries, do you guys unhook one and charge them separately or together? Someone in my family let the keys in mine all night and the truck went totally dead, so I've been periodically putting a charger on them, but I have been unhooking one and charging them separately.
 
Let's see, the truck charges them when they are together; therefore so should you. Just make sure all the connections are clean and tight.

I concur. I view the pair of batteries in my truck as one big battery. You should keep them as a pair until one dies. At that time, you replace BOTH batteries and use the old good one for something else.

It is also best to charge them until they are fully charged. Today's alternators are not designed to deliver a high current load as with the generators back before 1964.

Fully charged= 12. 6 volts at rest for 24 hours.

at rest= nothing connected to the battery
