Last night i went to start my truck and turned it over after the wait to start light went out. About 5 to 10 seconds later the grid heater cycled again and this time with a loud clunk of the motor. After that it only read around 11 volts on the dash and popped a code for low voltage charging system and for power down information lost. I drove it around for a while and it the voltage never went back up. It also became harder to start after that. So i took it to the dealer today and as soon as i showed it to them it stopped doing it and started working normal. They just called me and told me that the ecm needed a reflash for a tsb that covered this issue. I kind of don't believe that it was just a computer problem because of the way it was acting. seemed more likely to me that the solonoid to turn the heater off was stuck. With all that being said i wonder if i reupload my smarty software it will get rid of the reflash, and if my smarty stock program has that included. I returned smarty back to stock before going to that makes me think that smarty's stock program does not have it included. What do you guys think?

so I read up on the tsb and it is exactly what I had. Now my problem is wether or not my smarty will erase that new flash. It's obviously not part of the smarty stock program or I wouldn't need it.

The smarty will not erase a flash. If the factory software is newer than your Smarty software the smarty will not load.
