About 30 yrs. ago there was a man, an inventor, by the name of Charlie Brown, who had a water vapor device that boosted fuel economy in both diesel and gas trucks by about 20% It works similar to a water injection system but it actually worked because of the way it was constructed. It didn't actually inject the water in there it worked similar to a ceramic water filter. When air was drawn in through the intake the air would pass through the ceramic filter and the vacuum would draw moisture out of the pores of the ceramic device and thus you would get actual water vapor instead of squirts of water like you would get in someof the cheapo water injection devices. Some auto dealers were actually offering it on vehicles in the early 70's until the EPA stepped in and stopped it claiming it was an unapproved fuel enhancement device, even though it was tested and worked and cut back on diesel emissions by more than half. But the EPA stopped the dealers from having it on their new cars.
Does anybody know if there is a similar device being made again and where one can be gotten?
