Dodge introduces Ram 3500 Box-Off 4x2 Dually

Dodge's bold, tough, in-your-face attitude has been extended to the Ram 3500 in a box-off 4x2 dually. The package is available in regular and Quad Cab models, packaged with full-size Ram capability. Commercial work-truck customers will have easy upfit along with heavy-duty towing and payload capability. The standard 5. 7-liter HEMI® V-8 engine produces 345 horsepower and 375 lb. -ft. of torque at 4,400 rpm. compared with competitive vehicles with similar size gasoline engines, it provides best-in-class acceleration and towing capability. The Dodge Ram 3500 Box-Off 4x2 Dually is built at the Saltillo Assembly Plant in Mexico.

Were any 1-tons true chassis cabs by this definition? I know the Ford F-350 chassis cabs I've worked on all had curved frames - 1972, 1977, 1987 - and required cut-to-match-the-frame-curves wood blocks to get a flat surface to mount a dump truck frame.

From what I have seen on the Development mule, there will be a chasis cab with straight frame rails. The DCX teaser info lists the Hemi as Std equipment, but the Cummins will be available, not Std equipment. Also, the mule was a 4x4, so I am sure 4x4s will be available as optional equipment. I have even heard of some development of different style boxes for the vehicles. Some of the stuff I have seen running around the Tech Center indicates that DCX is serious about building heavier duty trucks available in all configs.

It was my understanding the next CC was going to be a 4500 with the bigger diesel. Is that just a 60's flasback or did I really hear that was going to happen?

I would like to get a 4500 (or bigger?) 4wd, cab and a half or ~~maybe~~ a crew. ??? 10' deck with a little more wheelbase than a duelly. I would love a heavier sway bar both front and rear too!



Not interested in a bigger motor tho.





I know that I have seen a Cab & Chassis aboot 5 yrs ago that was brand new and no box at all on it yet that had a 1/4 mile long frame and I think they were strait.



The curved frame on the Dodge is not an issue anyhow... . The box mounts are flat. I built my own flatbed and couldn't believe how user freindly the fame mounts were!



I haven't seen a new Cab and Chassis in a few yrs and was wondering if they were still making them - and if they made anything heavier than 11,000 gvw? (4wd of course!)

I think that is as straight as they get. These are pics. of the Dodge 4500 or 4000, what ever they call them in ol' Mexico! Bad thing is they don't offer the Cummins in those trucks, just the Hemi.

They moved Cummins truck production to the states. Mine was built in Mexico too.

Since when? As of two weeks ago the were all still being built in Saltillo. I heard that they might start building diesel in St. Louis as well but have been told that it will remain mainly a Saltillo product.



I can find out more on Monday. I fact the two Mega Cab protoypes that I saw last week were both built in Saltillo. I fact, DCX implied that most Mega's would be built in Saltillo because they would be diesel.

I really hope they get a cab and chassis soon. I also have an 05' f-350 cab and chassis with the powerpuke in it and its terrible I really!!!!!!!!!!!!!! want a new dodge cab and chassis to put a tool bed on My 03' drw crew cab has 104k on it
