Chat room

Went into chat room last nite and the screen loaded up, but nothing appears on the screen. I can see the outline of the truck in the background but has always in the past told me Who is online in the chat forum. Don't know if there is a problem with it or not. Just tried to see if it was any different now from last nite and no change. Is there a problem with it or is it on my end? Thanks Don

I just went into the chat and it's working fine here. Try it again and if it doesn't work your Java installation may be corrupted. You can download Java at http://www.java.com .

Steve, I just got DSL today. I was able a week or so to get into chat , I have also changed my e-mail acct in the TDR. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the JAVA and it is no different than before. everything is there ... just nothing comes up on the chat screen like generally shows who is online or if I type something in the box and hit enter... ... it doesn't show up. Maybe I have something turned off or am doing wrong.

When you set up the DSL did you install any software along with it? Often DSL setup disks will install some firewall/anti-popup/anti-spam/anti-virus/internet security software. Many of those will block Java. If anything was installed along with it (like Norton internet security or Mcafee . . . ) then check that software to see if it's blocking Java.

I got it working now. I called the DSL Tech support and you were right. There was some type of firewall put in place that we had to disable in order to run this chat on the TDR. There must be something different about the TDR chat as I had been in other chat rooms without incident. Thanks for you help Steve.
