Hey guys,

I found out today that Texas recently passed a law that says all diesel pickups now have to have a muffler to pass the state inspection requirements. I got my truck inspected today and it failed because it is strait-piped. I need to know where I can purchase or order a cheap muffler that is 3. 5 inlet and outlet or whatever diameter the factory exhaust is on the truck in my sig,it is the 94. I don't want to spend a lot as this truck will soon be for sale. I just purchased an 01 quad cab 4x4 and I can't keep them both. Thanks in advace for your help.

Walker muffler from NAPA will work. Sorry, don't have the part number, but a search might find it.

I just went to the Tx dot website and included in there definition of a muffler are turbine wheels. I printed the page and I will go back to the shop with it tommorow. Thanks for all your replies.

Just an update,

I had to buy a used muffler and have it put on to pass. I took my printout from the DPS website to the shop that inspected it and it was almost identical to his inspection copy except a note in the margine that says if a vehicle was originaly equiped with a muffler and turbo it must have both to pass an inspection. No more straight piped diesels in Texas.
