Darn this paint scratches easy. Was removing Diamond Plate box to get LineX install Friday and got a scratch on the side of the bed from my belt buckle.   Snow King

I second that statement

"Darn this paint scratches easy. "

While installing CB antenna I lightly tapped the door edge with a ratchet , off came a flake, followed by many tears!!

I guess if you take enough paint off it could be considered bombing, being that you would have less rolling weight.

I personally don't recommend it.

It's actually the crappy soft clear coat that's showing the scratches.

When scratched, the soft coat kinda rippes and gets jagged as it pulles apart.

Either a good high speed buffer / polisher or for the deepest and worse ones some carefull wet sanding with 2000 - 3000 grit wet sandpaper can soften the edges of the scratch to make appear to go away.

When I was looking to buy my Ram the biggest joke was if you went too fast with a Ram, you could watch the air molecules scratch the paint.

But I've noticed with my Ford car and Wife's Nissan, they're about the same... the slightes scratch in the clear coat show up pure white. Looks so bad on the darker colors...

paint

the first booboo is always the hardest. i used to say you could keep things looking good as long as you kept them in the shed and didn't use them... ..... then i accidentally started the tractor in reverse in the shed one day. the woodsplitter on the back gashed a big hole in the back of my enclosed trailer, and drove it into the back of the rollin' redneck residence. bent one of the tailpipe extensions and dented the trailer and the rrr. all this and nary a cussword... ... . some days i have more restraint than others... anyway, after the first one the minor booboos don't hurt as much. :(

That's why when I buy a new vehicle, I grab a handfull of rocks and toss them across the hood. :D That way I'm no longer worried when the first booboo is going to occur.

If you believe the magic potion info-mercials, you can use their magic potion to wipe away those rock scratches! And save millions by not going to have it fixed at the body shop!

CGilbert,

I noticed on your tag line,,,,,

"NO REAR CUP HOLDERS"

Neither does my buddies '01 3500 QC. .

My '99 does. . nice little gadget. .

What gives?

DC makes ~10K profit on each truck... were they that in need of boosting the quartly profits that they struck it off of bill of materials?
