Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Check Eng Lite

Just came back from a trip. Had check eng lite go on found every thing to be ok. stoped at a garage and had it checked out and they could find nothing wrong. how do I turn off check eng lit?

It turns itself off when there is no problem. They missed something. You still have a problem. Check for codes.

what you need to do is turn the key on but dont start the truck. then turn it back off then on then off then on and if you have a 94-95 count the blinks from the check engine light or 96-01 look at the odom and read the code it gives you. if you dont know the codes look in the 911 section and go to the top of the page and the codes will be in one of the stickies.

The new dash design didnt come out till 98, so count the blinks on 94-97, 98 and up have the LCD odometer to read the codes.
