Check Engine light came on at 22,300 miles. Auto Zone says codes are P1451 for Barometric Pressure Sensor, and P2A00 for an O2 sensor. O2 sensor is 79. 99 which they will have to order and the Barometric Pressure sensor they couldn't order. Any one know where to pick these up fairly cheap and where these are located? Easy to change or not?

I believe the Barometric Pressure Sensor is our MAP sensor. That is located on the backside of the intake horn, drivers side. It is held in place by one torx screw. It takes about 10 minutes to change it out.

I find it hard to believe that it's bad. Usually they get sooted up and you just have to clean them. Someone else will have to chime in on the 2007. Doesn't it have the hard line running into the front side of the horn that has to have to little hole cleaned as well?

There are two O2 sensors. One is in front of the CAT and the other is past the CAT. I believe it takes a 19 mm. The O2 sensors are the larger of the fittings in the exhaust system. The others are like 9/16 and they are pressure sensors.

Before you buy the new sensors, clean the MAP sensor. Get all of the soot off and reinstall. That is quick and painless. Look here:

Then pull the O2 sensors and clean with Simple Green and a brush, then reinstall. You remove them by disconnecting the electrical connector and using a socket and a 19 MM or 3/4 inch socket.

That may just solve your problem.

www.http://MOPAR4LESS.com is a good source of discounted parts.

Can a simple Autozone generic code reader and their code listing accurately determine the cause of a CEL? I'm not sure I would completely trust their diagnosis and begin buying expensive parts.

Alan, I had already read that thread and had posted on it asking if that was my problem before I took it to Auto Zone to get the codes. I'll see if I can navigate under the hood and locate theses and dig out issue 73 to see if it gives a little more instruction.

Bob, I bought this used about 4 months ago. Checked w/ my pal @ the Dodge dealer, he didn't think it would be covered.

If these two are indeed the same, have you ever cleaned your MAP sensor (to the OP)? If not, it may be clogged up and not require replacement. Unclip the sensor/wiring harness, remove the one screw, pull out gently and spray with Electronic parts cleaner. Gently wipe with a toothbrush until get get all the soot out.

I would clean them both, and clear the codes. It would be very unusual to have those two things fail at the same time. With the low mileage, I would think both parts are sooted up and need a good cleaning.

Run the vin... ... ... it takes a few minutes and will give you the answer not a guess.

I will guess that with the codes you have you do not have the latest software. It makes a huge difference,

The advice you are getting here is somewhat inaccurate... .....

Update, took it to a guy south of Greensburg, IN who works @ Cummins in Columbus and works on the 6. 7 on the side. Bob4x4 you are correct, I still have a warranty. He said it probably was in the middle of a regen when I reached my destination and shut it off. He removed the code and it didn't come back on and kept it for awhile, it never returned. Thanks for all of the replies.
