Boy, I was hoping that I would be one of the guys sitting on the sidelines reading about everyone's else having the Turbo problems... Went to get fuel and the check engine light comes on...come home and I have the Juice Edge so push the display the trouble codes and guess what 2262# Turbo... . Just got the truck back with less than 800 miles from the dealer as they upgraded the computer and did the 6 can clean job... Now I have to disconnect and take out the Edge system again which is wearing out the plugs that go into the injectors! The truck has 15,545 miles and mainly highway miles going to the lake. Other than that, it sits in the driveway... How many turbo's do we all need and what happens to all of us when the warranty is gone. . Something has to give... Am I ******... . YES! #@$%! The truck is a 2007 3500 duallie...

The Juice adds fuel=soot=sticking turbo. Loose the uprate and with the new flash you should be fine, otherwise your asking for additional problems.

1Nebel0,

Both the guys who are teling you the magic black box increases fueling and soot are trained and certified dealer Cummins techs. My advice would be listen to them.

You may not want to hear this but it is possible, maybe even likely, that if you had not put the box on your engine you wouldn't be having any problems at all.

I am not running ANY boost. . I bought the Juice for the gauges and turbo timer function. The boost stays on Zero... .

From the time I start the truck to when I shut it off. . Learned that from this site... I have tried to do all of the right things in regards to cooling the turbo down with the turbo timer and using the Juice for the guage functions as it was so easy to install. Our trucks in my opinion don't need any more power so that function never gets touched so additional fueling should not be an issue. . I am going to contact the Edge people to see what they have to say... After spending $800 I hate to throw it in a drawer and start over with quages on the pillar, however will do what ever it takes to not have the turbo problems.

The boost shouldn't be staying on zero, that means either a gauge malfunction or a MAP sensor malfunction.

There are plenty of turbo timers out there, and other gauges. If thats all you want I suggest you get those. . I don't think the dealership will care if you say thats all you use it for.

Let me rephrase... the power level is left on zero on the Edge... . the boost function of the turbo is working fine as indicated by the quage.

Not that it matters but called the dealer who can't take the truck until next week is seeing 3 trucks a week with repeated code 2262... Many of the trucks are getting new turbo's. . Not sure of the quality of the mechanic there but intend this time to talk to him. . I was a Mac Tool dealer for 8 years as well as reading hundreds of posts on this site to understand this new motor and it's related problems... I want to see his background on them. . Mike, can the Edge add to the problems even though I am not running additional power boost settings? Wished you worked at my dealership!

I traveled clear across the state of Texas to visit Mike at the dealership where he works because I value his knowledge and skill. Not all dealerships employ techs with his level of experience and knowledge of our trucks.

Mike,

If we need to keep the exhuast brake on at all times should dodge release a mod to handle this issue?

Up to this point in time, keeping the exhaust brake on all the time is just advise from Dodge/Cummins for customers that drive there trucks in a drive cycle that prevents them from enabling a regeneration event. It is assumed that working the slide ring in the turbo with the actuation of the exhaust brake will keep the soot from contaminating the slide ring...

So to answer your question, your are right to think it would be smart to at least off some kind of modification.

I think if they would at least offer the availability to make the pick-up exhaust brake operate like the cab/chassis exhaust brake works ,so that once you turn it on it stays on , would be a good idea.

But I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Mike

What flash does your truck have and did you buy it used???? Somr dealers say they reflash and in reality dont or at leasrt dont use the latest flash which is supposed to be the AS one, does your truck have a sticker telling you what flash has been installed, its supposed to be, looks for a picture in this forum of the dodge sticker and the actaul writing.

Truck went to the shop today... . service writer doesn't like the fact I read the code. . Thank you Edge. . another nice feature... check engine light turned off after two drive cycles. . go figure but code was still stored... stay tuned for the next thread when I get it back... think I will wait a while before putting the Edge back in. . getting tired of pulling everything in and out... Mike, Texas is too far to drive for the fix... My son is in the Woodlands though...

Dealer called today and said they ordered a new turbo. . I bought the truck used with 9,000 miles on it. . They did a flash update 500 miles ago when they cleaned the turbo. I will talk to the mechanic when I pick the truck up and discuss the AS flash as well as what the difference is now with the new turbo... more to come..... Steve

update... Truck has been in the shop tomorrow for the week... . have not heard from the service manger who told me yesterday it should be done today, Thursday... Sure glad I don't use the truck daily like a lot of you guys... It would be more frustrating than it already is. . hope to get it tomorrow so I can use it for boating on the weekend... . maybe the turbo's are on back order given the amount being changed out.....
