History:
Truck popped two engine codes about 5K miles ago, Both indicating my injector pump may have seen its better days. Unfortunately I can't remember the 2 codes. Thought it might be the Comp, so I replaced with a new one. (box only, not harness) Then all seemed ok for a while.
Recently, its been popping the 236 & 237 codes. First advice has been to disconnect the PE Comp to completely eliminate as a possible failure.
Question is, do either of these codes have any ties to the injector pump? My reason for asking is that I currently have immediate availability to a new "hotrod" VP44. . 2nd, my truck is a 98. 5. . bla bla bla
By the same token. . its not like I have that kind of cash waiting to be spend on an injector pump... but I don't feel like being towed, or breaking down on the road either.
Thoughts?
