Well I got up this morning at 0500 to go to work and my usual routine is to drive my truck. Suprise it did not start battery low good thing I have a spare ride 1989 buick century which I drive during the week. So I put the charger on before I left it read 45% battery. I was gone about 9 hours when I got back it read 77%. So I let it charge 2 more hours it then read 88%. There was a very little dirt on them but I took the time to totaly clean the two. After it was back together I put the charger back on and wow it is now at 100%. Got in the truck it started and now I have a CEL code 2509. I can't find my copy of the codes, need some help. Thanks

When you don't bother to describe your truck in your post or signature you reduce the chance of receiving good recommendations on repairing your problem.

If the ECM doesn't detect the problem for x number of starts, the code display goes away. I think 3 to 5, something like that.

Lots of '08s had defective OEM batteries that only lasted a couple of years. I replaced both of mine about a year and a half ago when one of them developed a dead cell or two. Later several other TDR members posted about early battery failures.

You may have the same problem.
