Ok Guys. . I've searched with no luck hope somebody can help me.

I need to check what codes I set today. How do I do this and where can I look them up? Thanks.

Push trip meter button in and hold down. Cycle key to on posisiton 3 times. On third cycle - leave in on posistion and release trip button.

Thsi will allow you to see codes set on the PCM not the ECM. You can go to www.batauto.com ( I think that is the address) or got to www.Dodgeram.org to find the code.

Hope this helps

got the code..

Looked it up and need some clarification. . P1693.

Code says DTC detected in PCM/ECM

What does this mean?

p1693 means there is a code in the companion module,in your case it sounds like you need to check the Ecm

After installing the Comp, the check engine light came on. My buddy suggested that I remove the battery cables and touch the positive and negative clamps to each other. The next day my check engine light was off. I can't say if this was just coincidence, but it worked.

j nelson--I just ran into the same situation--check engine light came on. I tried to retrieve the code as described but no luck. The trip display went thru a set of checks and returned to zero on the display. Maybe I'm not doing this right. I have a '99. Maybe it is a different function??

A fair number of VERY minor events CAN trigger a P1693 code - including ROLLING your truck into the garage with the ignition switched on but engine not running... It's a good idea to pay attention when the engine light goes on, and do some checking, but unless you see that something really IS wrong, probably no need to panic! If the light stays on after 4-5 routine trips with the truck, maybe something IS needing attention - but if it goes out and stays out after several trips, probably just a glitch in the software - I understand Microsoft wrote the programming for the ECM... :p ;) :D
