Heading over to the Oregon coast last night I got a chime and check engine light but no problem indication in the overhead display. Rig is a 2008 RAM 2500 diesel with 14900 miles. I have had check engine lights twice in the past and as I recall a code was displayed in the overhead console. (Turbo replaced at 3500 miles and EGR replaced at 5342 miles. ) After a few restarts the check engine light is still on and overhead shows "System OK".

I have an Edge Insight and having that read the code shows "P2:00: unknown". The list of Dodge 6. 7L codes I have does not list anything for "0200". Anyone know how to decipher this and know what it might be? Truck seems to be running OK.

Dealer says they can't take a look until Tuesday (this is Friday) which is OK as I can't get it back to them until then anyway. Had the J35 ECM flash done at 12039 miles.

i am the one who had the p2a00 code on mine. could not get insight to give me the code either. cycle your key on and off three times. has to be done in a 5 second time frame. just on and off, do not start motor. will give yoyu the code on dash in the milage area. on the third cycle leave key in on position.

This happened to me, also. I was 700 miles from home, no code, system ok. I went looking for a Dodge dealer, but highway stack up in direction gps said to go, so turned around, I called my bro-in-law, who has also had this happen. He went to a dealer, who told him that if it wasn't flashing, "just drive it". . It was in a regin mode when it happened. (insight) Made it home ok. Will see dealer this week. I was also towing 9000# 5th wheel
Had j35 done. Have seen LOTS of regin since new flash...

The code was indeed P2A00. Evidently the Edge Insight displayed as "200", missing the "A". They replaced the upstream O2 sensor and installed exhaust wrap. They said that there was a service bulletin on the exhaust wrap and I do recall seeing that mentioned - not sure why it was not done to this rig up to now. Work was done at 15073 miles under warranty. Work order says:

Installed 5149263AA :sensor: oxygen

Installed 68064953AA :shield: heat

Found code P2A00. Removed and replaced upstream O2 .

Installed exhaust wrap. Ran vehicle. Drove OK.
