Check Gauges

3 or 4 months ago my check guages light came on and I noticed my oil pressure gauge was at 0. This happened 3 tomes on my way to work. Took truck into dealer and they indicated and update was not done for that particlular problem. This morning on my way to work it did it again but only once. Any ideas as to what the problem is????

If the computer does not sense oil pressure after the engine has run for 30 seconds it will throw the check gauges light and alarm. Unfortunately the gauge goes straight up at first and does not give a true reading for the first few seconds.





Is this after the truck is warmed up, Or when first starting? I would definitely consider getting a real oil pressure gauge that does not rely on the coputer to tell me what is going on.

could be a bad pressure switch or loose connection there? or your lube oil is thinned out with fuel. is your oil level any higher than normal?

Are you using an i-pod adapter to plug your i-pod into the radio's cd changer port? If so, that could be the problem. I had an i-pod adapter that messed with all the gauges on the dash (at random) and turned on the check engine light. The light would only flash on for a second.

its only occured after engine is warmed up to operating temp which takes about 7 or miles from home

no electronics are plugged into any of the 12v ports
